hangin' out

We have all been sick (can you believe it!?) the past couple of weeks, so we've been hanging around the house a lot so as not to infect the general public with all our super germs. Here are some pictures of us cooped up in the house...

Delia at 6 months

Delia turned six months last week! We really can't believe how fast time is going. She's pretty much the coolest little girl ever. She's got one tooth (and another on the way, I think, with the amount of drool she's producing), is sitting up mostly by herself, loves her big brother and mom and pop, is fascinated by the cat, gets around by doing a really mean log roll, can't figure out solid foods yet, is wiggly, squirmy, and VERY active, has a great smile and laugh, hates to sleep, has an awesome "faux-hawk", likes to sing and squawk, and is just about as cute as they come. We can't believe that she is ours! Here is her glamour shot to mark her half-year birthday...

Fit to Print

Matt made the front page of our local paper, The Durango Herald, today! He was quoted in a story about liquor stores being open on Sunday. Granted, in a small town like Durango it's only a matter of time before you end up in the paper (Matt's been in three times since we've moved,) but we were excited. You can read the thrilling article here.

That not Colorado

This morning we were watching the Today Show. I told Isaac, "Look! Al Roker is in Colorado." After looking at the TV screen he tells me, "That not Colorado, Mommy." He ran to the window and pointed to our front yard. "Colorado is out THERE!"

Mmmm... this bassinet tastes good!

I wanted to take some pictures of Delia in her bassinet before she totally grows out of it. I like the one where she is trying to eat it.

The Log Song

Here's a new song that Matt taught Isaac...

Here are the lyrics in case you can't understand Isaac:

What comes in one and pairs

and rolls downs the stairs

and over your neighbors dog?

What fits on your back

is good for a snack?

It's LOG, LOG, LOG!

It's LOG! It's LOG! It's big, it's heavy, it's wood!

It's LOG! It's LOG! It's better than bad, it's good!

(This is a Ren & Stimpy song btw!)

Hey! We grew something!

Planting Seeds, part 2... So the seeds Isaac and I planted actually grew. I am shocked. It's been a great little project for us- Isaac is really good at checking on our plants and helping water.

Planting seeds

I am SO anxious for spring and summer this year! Since it will be months before we can plant anything outside I decided to plant seeds in miniature green houses inside. Isaac is my constant helper, so I thought this would be a good project for us. He did great sticking in the seeds, and he loves to water them. I don't have much of a green thumb, so I hope we see something grow. Isaac checks the greenhouses everyday!

St. Patrick's Day

We had a great St. Patty's yesterday. I thought these picts of the kids sporting green are pretty funny.

What would St. Patty's be without Black and Tans courtesy of Jason?
Slainte!

Getting Better

We are getting better! Hooray! Here are pictures to demonstrate... Delia is not crying or snotty, so we must be getting better.

House of sick 3.0

Here's the update on all our illnesses...
Delia is not really getting better, but not necessarily getting worse. We are watching her closely to see if she has a secondary infection on top of the RSV. She actually seems to like the nebulizer.
Isaac has an allergic reaction to the first anti-biotics, so he's on to a second prescription, plus stuff to get rid of his allergic rash. He has perked up a bit, though, and is kind of getting back to his whiny 2 year old self. He HATES the nebulizer.
Matt does have pink eye and an upper respiratory infection, so lots of anti-biotics. And the nebulizer.
Sarah is not sick, but very, very, very, VERY tired and not very patient with her patients.
Please pray we all get better quick!

It's called ROCK BAND

I think Isaac and his friend Chris are going to start a band. I think we'll call them "The Mantles." We're in negotiations for their first album. What do you think?

House of sick on anti-biotics

We just got back from the doctor's office again... we found out Isaac has bronchitis and an ear infection and Delia has RSV. Matt is on his way to the DR. soon to check his eyes for Pink Eye (!) and find out what his nagging, hacking cough could be. Pray that we are all better soon!

House of sick

Yes, we are the house of sick. Matt, Isaac and Delia all have pretty bad colds. Thankfully no one is throwing up, just coughing up lungs. To show you how bad they all feel here is Isaac on the couch. Just lying there. Watching Jeopardy. I've never, never seen him do this-be still for longer than 30 seconds. Delia is doing the same thing- it is unnerving. My poor babies!

Cool Kids

Here we are at Baskin Robbins again. Isaac and I are cool kids in our glasses. The weather was surprisingly nice last week- no snow and lots of sunshine, hence the shades. By the way, I was informed that my favorite flavor, Chocolate Mousse Royale, has been discontinued. What are you doing to me Baskin Robbins?

happy leap year

I wish I had this on video. I've been trying to teach Isaac new songs. Here's how "You are My Sunshine" is going...

Me (Sarah): You are my
I: Sunshine!
Me: My only
I: Reason!
Me: You make me
I: Happy!
Me: When skies are
I: Grey!
Me: You'll never know, dear, how much
I: I love you!
Me: Please don't
I: Say darn-it!

Make a bideo!

Whenever I pull out the camera Isaac begs me to "Make a bideo!" ( he hasn't figured out his "v"s yet), so here is today's video that he can now watch online (he loves that part.) It might be a little tedious for you, but I think it's pretty funny...
