To the ZOO!
Before we left ABQ last weekend we stopped by the zoo. It was a bit hot and most of the animals were... resting. The kids had a lot of fun anyway- we saw a lot of animals, but the kids especially loved the cats (Delia calls them the MEOWS!). Our camera stopped working halfway through our visit, so we didn't get a ton of great shots. Here's what we ended up with...

Go 'Topes!
This weekend we went to Albuquerque for a quick trip- the kids were great and we had a fun time. On Saturday night we went to the Isotopes game, and the kids loved it. Delia's favorite was Orbit (the mascot)- she was enthralled with him. When I asked Isaac what he liked he told me, "The popcorn and the ice cream." The kids didn't notice, but the Isotopes won. Here they are at the game with Grandpa and Pop...
Here's a series of pics of the kids in their seats- I thought Isaac was being hilarious...

Camping Trip
This weekend we took the kids camping for the first time. Matt and I both grew up in the mountains and loved camping as kids, so we figured it was time to get started with our kids. After our 15 hour adventure we think we might wait until they are a little bit older to do a lot more "roughing it." I think the kids mostly had fun, but the fire was a bit stressful (especially with Delia screaming her head off if I went anywhere near the fire- no marshmallows for Mommy) and, as expected, the kids had a hard time sleeping in the tent. I spent most of the night clinging to a sliver of my Thermarest trying to stay warm while Delia hogged my pillow and sleeping bag. Matt chased Isaac's slippery sleeping bag all over the tent all night, and neither of us slept much. We were pulling back into our garage by 8am the next morning. At least we gave it a shot. Here's some highlights-

Happy 4th
Happy belated Independence Day! We had a fun 4th... I tried to explain the holiday to Isaac, but all he really caught was the fireworks part. He did get to see fireworks and was actually very good sitting and watching them. Delia was all over the place- maybe she will enjoy them more next year. As a side note... somehow during our watching fireworks conversation Isaac learned the phrase "piece of work." Now he tells the dog, "Mojo, you are a piece of work!"
Besides the pyrotechnics we had a great day. A couple of weeks ago Matt surprised me with a new bike! I love it! We decided to get a bike trailer for Delia, too, so the whole family can ride together. For the 4th we rode to the park (it only took 20 minutes to go half a mile... Isaac is a bit slow on his bike) and had fun playing and running around.

Put me in coach...
Watching Pop play softball tonight... pretty fun and the kids kind of listened to me. The Steaming Armadillos haven't been having a stellar season this year, but tonight they won! By more than 20 runs! Yeah! We got to see Pop hit AND sit in the shade. Not bad.

happy birthday grandpa!
This weekend we had a little party for my Dad's 60th birthday. We tried to get a picture of him with all his grandkids. Maybe in 5 or 6 years this will be easier. I know one thing, though. These kids LOVE their grandpa. Happy Birthday Dad!

Pop's Day
Another great Father's day... As soon as Matt came downstairs this morning Isaac announced, "We got you a card and a bag Pop!" He's making it hard to surprise anyone these days. The kids picked out a bag for Matt to use for work to replace the cardboard boxes and paper bags he's been using. The employees call them his "brief-box" and "brief-bag." Well, now he has an actual briefcase (ish type bag.) He'll be boss of the century!
Happy Father's Day Pop!

Delia did not love it. She spent the morning like this. She has teeth coming in spends a lot of time chewing on her hand...
