School's out for summer...

Isaac is done with his first year of preschool! He loved every second of it and keeps asking when he gets to go back. He doesn't quite gasp having 3 months off. The last day of school he had a little program and, more importantly, an ice cream party!
Here he is shaking an egg in the program...

I want to get away...

A couple of weeks ago we drove down to Phoenix to buy some furniture and "get away" for a bit. It wasn't quite the relaxing weekend we were hoping for. 100+ degree heat, 3 separate trips to Ikea with whiny/melt-down kids, an after hours trip to the ER... not very fun!
The last night at the hotel Delia found a gel cap under one of the beds and before we knew it she had put it in her mouth. Even though we got it out, the gel cap broken and some of the contents got in her mouth. So poison control told us to head the the ER. The hotel gave us the wrong directions to a closed urgent care. We eventually made it to the hospital and had to stay most of the night so Delia could be observed. We'll never know what she put in her mouth, but she is totally fine (thank God!) Tip of the Day- check out your hotel room before letting your kids run around. We found a handful of disgusting stuff after looking around a bit. Needless to say, we wouldn't recommend staying at the Fairfield Inn on N. Scottsdale in Phoenix. When we asked them to comp our room the night we stayed in the ER they refused and basically told us we were lying about what had happened to Delia.
Despite all of the drama, Isaac seems to have really enjoyed staying at the hotel. He has been talking about hotels ever since we left and keeps calling our "new" house a hotel. Here are the kids jumping on the beds- their favorite part of the trip!

Where have you been?

We are back! Back in our house after moving out for awhile, back with wireless Internet. The construction is more or less done on our addition... we still have a lot of work to do to finish everything, but we are getting back to "normal." The extra space in our living/dining area is GREAT- we really needed it. Now we are not tripping over each other all the time. The kids' rooms were also expanded- now they are HUGE. The kids are loving having more space to play and be totally wild. I haven't taken any pictures, but will hopefully get to it soon. Matt and I are beyond exhausted with all the work we've done in the past couple of weeks. We should be bouncing back soon, though.
