Isaac turns 10

We have finally reached double digits- Isaac just turned 10!

At ten years old Isaac is a fast and loyal friend and would choose to hang out with his friends above anything else.  He has his moments of being a really great big brother and loves to instruct and inform his siblings about Legos, sports, video games, and paper airplanes.  He continues to do well in school and loves math and science.  I am always trying to catch up with him when we read the same books, I love that he loves to read!!  His mind is always working and he loves to ask questions about everything and debate everything.  Just when I think he's not paying attention to anything, he says something profound or insightful.  He can be very helpful and loves to spend time one on one.  We love seeing him grow up- he's becoming an interested, interesting, fun young man!

Avika's Thanksgiving Program

Pictures from Avika's first program!  She did so great, following along with her classmates and doing all the motions and trying to sing some too!  Pretty much the sweetest thing ever.

Fall Soccer '15

Somehow we managed to pull off another soccer season this fall.  Isaac, Delia, and Miles all played again and Matt coached all their teams.  When he's feeling full of energy Miles is a great player and can really attack the ball.

Delia really is become a soccer star.  She's aggressive and works hard, she loves to score but doesn't mind defending either.  She's pretty competitive, but a good team player, too.  She likes to encourage her teammates and had some great assists this season.  I love watching her team play!

Unfortunately this is my only picture of Isaac from the season! :(  This was at his last game and he was recovering from the flu that wiped out a bunch of kids and staff from their school that week.  To be honest there wasn't much to photograph this season for Isaac.  Although he's a pretty skilled player he doesn't have much passion for soccer, I think we'll be looking for other activities for him to try out next year.

At eight years old Delia is incredibly kind, thoughtful, sensitive and generous, always thinking of others and wanting to make sure her siblings are doing okay.  She is so unique and creative and surprises me everyday with the art she creates and the stories she writes.  Someone told me recently that she seems very comfortable in her skin- that describes her so well!  She is very bright and a great student, she's excelling at everything in 2nd grade.  I don't know how we ended up with such a beautiful and gifted young woman!  She is amazing and we thank God for her everyday!
